So Bored...

I'm so bored since I'm out of school.

Sunday we went to Mainstreet Days with Holly, Curtis, and Ainsley. Stephen kept screaming and throwing temper tantroms that Matt & Curtis had to leave with him. When we were leaving to go there I picked up my camera and noticed that it is broken. So, I'm really upset about that!! Monday I had a follow up appt with my urologist. He said everything was okay, and that I needed to drink more water (duh). Yesterday Jaicee had cheerleading and it was bring a friend week, so she brought Ainsley. They had a good time.

TGIF

I had my graduation last night at 6pm. Well, my fake graduation. I still have ten more weeks of MedSurg and Clinicals. Hopefully it will be easy. We will have our own Nursing Ceremony in August which is more like our real graduation. Our class lost 5 more people to failing grades, so sad.

Today me, Matt, Jaicee, Stephen, Brian, and Matt's mom went to the Fort Worth Zoo. Boy, am I exahausted. You can check out all of the pics from Graduation and the Zoo HERE. Password is jaicee

Grandma is doing great. She has been excercising everyday. The first day she walked she said she walked 100 feet. They said since she was doing so good they were going to have the cancer doctor come by and talk to them a little sooner than before.

I have two weeks off and I dont know what I'm going to do with myself. I know my kids are going to drive me crazy :)

Last week of school :)

I left Thursday night to head to Shreveport to see Grandma. She has her good days and her bad days. The good days are starting to be more frequent. They took out her NG Tube and her J Tube. They said today that they are going to transfer her to a inpatient rehab place. So, thats exciting news.

I had my MedSurg final today. If I didn't pass it... then I will have to start the semester over in June. I'm not confident that I passed it... The test was very very very difficult...

I have two more finals tomorrow...

In Shreveport Again

Grandma is still making progress. I went and seen her today... Right before I got there she had just got up and walked to the door and back. She had bathed herself. And she got a breathing treatment. So, she was pretty wore out. They gave her some more pain medicine. I talked to her for a while but then had to get back with the kiddos.

This evening, they took out her NG tube (Nasogastric Tube that goes in her tostrils into her stomach). She did get a little nauseated but they gave her some medication and it fixed that.

She seems to be doing a lot better since the last time I saw her. All of her vitals were great. They are going to try and let her eat some clear liquids tomorrow if her stomach can handle it. While I was there today she said her stomach was growling, so that's good news.

A nurse came by and dropped off some pamplets for her to read about her colonostomy.

Forgot...

And the dirty food monster strikes again :)

I forgot to mention that they have her on TPN. Which is total parenteral nutrician. Which is basically where they put lipids, amino acids, glucose, and salt into her vein. It basically bypasses the stomach and gives her exactly what she needs. They did end up having to give her a unit of blood today.

Update for Wed

What do you get when you give a 1 year old some chocolate ice cream? A big mess!!

Grandma is doing good. They said last night she was talking in her sleep about the grandbabies. Kayli said she kept talking about Jaicee in her sleep. Then, this morning she was holding Stephen in her sleep and just to patting his back and asking if he was cold. Then, directing them to the trash can. he he he.

They came and took some blood out of her picc line this morning but had to take some more out of her arm because the blood didnt look good. We as a family are going to have to go donate some blood for her. She will probably get another unit of blood today.

We are heading back over there tomorrow. I'm excited to get to see her longer than 20 minutes at a time. It will be nice.
